About Me

Amanda Rose is a visual artist from St. Paul, Minnesota, currently majoring in Studio Art and Art History at St. Olaf College. Her creative work focuses on themes of gender, identity and the environment. Through her artistic practice, she aims to increase representation for people of color and share her experiences as a multicultural woman. Portraiture is also an important part of her practice, and she uses portraits to capture the unique personal identities of her subjects. Her primary mediums include acrylic, oil, watercolor, graphite, and digital media. At St. Olaf, Amanda was co-curator of the student-led exhibition UPRISING: Narrating Black Presence and Expression on the Hill for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years. In the fall of 2021, Amanda will begin her studies in the Master of Fine Arts program at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
