Amanda Rose is a visual artist from St. Paul, Minnesota. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) in 2023. She also attended St. Olaf College, and graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art and Art History. Her creative work focuses on themes of gender, identity, and the environment. Through her artistic practice, she aims to increase representation for people of color and share her experiences as a multicultural woman. Portraiture is an important part of her practice, as she captures the unique identities of her subjects.
At St. Olaf, Amanda was co-curator of the student-led exhibition UPRISING: Narrating Black Presence and Expression on the Hill for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years. Amanda currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at MCAD and St. Catherine University. She teaches classes focused on drawing, painting, and 2D media.
